Research area in technology and photonic materials is focused on the development of nonlinear optical and photonic materials, wave guide based on optic periodical system, light sources for information technology and telecommunication application and optical sensor. Research area in technology and magnetic materials is focused on the development of superconductor, magnetic semiconductor (dilute magnetic semiconductor), transition metal oxide for application as non-friction magnetic pads, superconducting magnetic energy storage, fault current limiter, spintronics and thermoelectric power source. The research covers theoretical, experimental and modelling, mainly through analysis on experimental results based on theoretical model and simulation and computation results.
This research division is supported by the following laboratories: Synthesis and fabrication of Photonic Materials, Magnetic and Superconductor Materials, Optical Characterization, and Design and Computation of Photonic Devices.
